Durata, a leading provider of modular data centres and critical power solutions, today announced the appointment of Ashaan Ayoub as Commercial Director.
This strategic hire comes as Durata sets its sights on significant expansion throughout 2025 and beyond.
Ashaan, pictured, brings extensive experience to Durata, having honed his skills over a decade in the civil engineering and construction industries since graduating as a quantity surveyor from Northumbria University.
His expertise spans various contract forms, including Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) and New Engineering Contract (NEC), and has a proven track record of success in cost management and project delivery for major clients such as Northumbrian Water and Leeds City Council.
Ashaan said: "I'm thrilled to be joining Durata at such an exciting time.
"The company's vision for the future, particularly in the modular building sector, aligns perfectly with my own ambitions.
“I'm eager to leverage my experience and build a strong team in his department to ensure Durata capitalises on the immense opportunities ahead, especially with the growing demand for data centres and critical power infrastructure driven by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI)."
Durata is confident Ashaan’s ability will contribute significantly to the company's success for the long-term.
John McGee, Durata’s Managing Director, said: “Ashaan’s reputation preceded him. He is well known and was respected in the positions he has had across the construction and engineering industries.
“Having him here reinforces our vision, strengthening the foundations of our company to give our customers greater peace of mind.”
Ashaan’s responsibilities will cover all commercial aspects of Durata's projects, from pre-tender stages through to final account settlements.
The 28-year-old, from Middlesbrough where the company is based, will play a crucial role in cost control, contract negotiation and strengthening strong relationships with clients and contractors.
John said: “Ashaan's expertise in cost management and his understanding of the complexities of major construction projects will be invaluable as we navigate our ambitious growth trajectory.
“We have always seen growth from day one and evolved, but this year is pivotal to a huge growth spurt in business contracts and people and staff numbers. With the contracts we are getting, we are appointing the people to back those up.”
Ashaan’s appointment also highlights Durata's commitment to investing in excellent local talent and building a strong team to support its expansion plans.
The company, based in Middlesbrough’s Tees AMP, is poised to become a key player in the rapidly evolving modular building and technology infrastructure sectors.
Ashaan’s arrival follows other recent appointments. Mitch Brady has been brought in as mechanical project manager, Claire Allport has arrived as a compliance assistant, Kieran Fawcett has taken on the role of building information management specialist, while the accounts department has been strengthened with the appointments of Louise Pearson as finance associate and Alison Robson as head of finance.
