Durata, the Middlesbrough-based expert in critical power infrastructure and modular data centres, is proud to have sponsored a recent climb of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Alice Davis, Technical Support Manager at Schneider Electric, conquered the 5,895m summit alongside 28 colleagues from the electrical industry, raising crucial funds for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC).
Durata and Schneider Electric have been partners for several years now, so Durata were more than happy to support Alice, when she shared her plans for the once in a lifetime trip.
Alice said: “Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro alongside so many colleagues from the electrical industry was an incredible and challenging experience, pushing me to my limits.
"The trek was difficult, with steep ascents and challenging weather conditions, but the shared mission to raise crucial funds for the Electrical Industries Charity kept us all going.”
Why supporting the EIC matters
The EIC provides vital support to individuals working in the electrical and energy sectors, offering assistance with financial hardship, mental health and other challenges.
In today's climate, with rising living costs and increasing pressures, the EIC's services are more crucial than ever.
Alice added: “We have all felt the pinch of the increased cost of living and continuously changing circumstances. We often speak about the impact of uncertainty and what it does to us as individuals, not just physically but mentally.
"We believe that early detection and early intervention is the key to effectively supporting our industry.”
Durata's commitment to the industry
Durata's sponsorship of Alice's climb demonstrates the Teesside company's commitment to supporting the electrical industry.
Alice said: "This journey was made possible by the generous support of sponsors like Durata, whose partnership played a vital role in helping me reach the summit and achieving my fundraising goals.
"I’m incredibly grateful to Durata for their support, which underscores their commitment to the growth and resilience of our industry.”
Beyond the climb
Durata has a broader commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to the industries it serves. As a leading provider of critical power infrastructure and modular data centres, Durata understands the importance of investing in the people who drive these essential sectors.
Durata director Andy Mullen said: “We believe in supporting the communities we serve and the industries that drive us forward.
"When we learned about Alice's incredible challenge to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in support of the Electrical Industries Charity, we were really keen to get involved – and to see our logo at the summit was incredible.
“The EIC provides vital support to those who power our world, and we are proud to contribute to their mission. Alice's dedication and determination highlight the spirit of our industry, and we are thrilled to have played a part in her success."
